COUNTY ATTORNEY
Came to be heard this the 25`h day of July 2005, with a motion made by Commissioner
Williams, seconded by Commissioner Nicholson. The Court unanimously approved by
vote of 3-0-0 the concept plan of abolishing the Hot Check Fund and rolling it into the
County Budget.

I am proposing to give the whole "Hot Check" fund to the county treasury with the
following understanding. Each of the County Attorney staff's fmancial compensations be adjusted
to provide the same level of income he/she is currently receiving. The staff have been receiving
salary supplements from the hot check fund for an extended period of time, have come to rely on
said income, and it would not be just to reduce their incomes through a procedural change. The
commissioners fund the "miscellaneous" line item of the budget with $6000 annually( approx.l0%
of the income) that I can use for various office expenditures including community development
and education, and law enforcement support.
The projected financial impact on the County budget is:
- annual fee (3 year avg.) $61,443.00
