Our association has held free public outreach programs each year since 1999 in the form of a riverside rendezvous at the former state park and at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center. These events are presented to identify artifacts, demonstrate conservation archeology while learning about the prehistory and history of our rich area and give families a wholesome, fun day of learning together. Our people are not collectors, instead we let landowners know what they have and we record for history with landowners permission only. This year's event will be held on Saturday, October 15'h, at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to 4 .m. We invite the commissioners and their families to come anytime during the day.
