Agenda backup I will present a resolution for consideration to the Commissioners Court on Monday that will outline specific measures and actions to improve the working relationship between the City of Kerrville and Kerr County and ask the City Council to join in adoption of the resolution. ~,~ d 9yo a RESOLUTION WHEREAS Kerr County and the City of Kerrville participaze in various joint operations, joint ownership and mutually beneficial contracts with each other including, but not limited to Kemille(Kea County Municipal Auport, Recycling Center, Animal Control Contract, EMS and Fire Contracts, ETJ Development, Emergency Management, Library and others; and WHEREAS Such joint cooperation is mutually beneficial m the taxpayers of Kea County and the City of Kemille; and WI~REAS Open communication, mutual discussion and the sharing of information is vital to improve a positive and cooperative atmosphere between the City and the County; now therefore BE IT RESOLVED That Kea County Commissioners' Court re-affirms its support for all joint opemtions, joint ownership and mutually beneficial contracts with the City of Kemille including, but not limited to Butt-Holdsworth Library, Kemille/Kea County Municipal Airport, Recycling Center, Animal Control Contract, EMS and Fire Contracts, ETJ Development and Emergency Management; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED That Kea County Commissioners' Court calls upon the Mayor and City Council to resrmte the practice ofsemi-annual joint meetings to be held January and June of each year, and az such other times as are mutually beneficial to discuss the above-referenced matters and other mutuatly- beneficial initiatives; and be i[ FURTHER RESOLVED That Ken County Commissioners' Court calls upon the Mayor and City Council to join in developing along-term resolution to funding issues for Butt-Holdsworth Library, including the formation of a County-wide Library District; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED That Kea County Commissioners' CouR calls upon the Mayor and City Council to join in participating with our Special Ad Hoc Conunittee to examine funding and other issues relating to the current EMS system; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED That Kert County Commissioners' Court calls upon the Mayor and City Council to join in the immediate finalization of an ETl Development Agreement, required by State law to be in phu:e no later than ]anuary 2006; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED That Ken County Commissioners' Court calls upon the Mayor and City Council to join in adopting a similar Resolution aclmowledging the City's commitment to the continuation ofjoint operations, joint ownership and mutually beneficial contmcts, and join with Commissioners' Court in addressing issues related to the aforementioned four specific items.
