AEenda Item Backus Statement Kerr County's reapplication to the Texas Water Development Board for grant funding is in its final stages of preparation. Our plan is to deliver the application on or about December 1. The previous Resolution authorizing a Kerr County grant application identified as funding sources two TWDB programs that are no longer funded. Our original application was not approved as the limited funding in these programs ran out. This Resolution summarizes our activity to date, and authorizes the new application for consideration under the TWDB Regional Water Supply and Wastewater Facilities Planning Program. RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING KERB COUNTY TO REAPPLY TO THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD FOR A GRANT TO UNDERTAKE PLANNING AND ENGINEERING FOR A WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM FOR THE COMMUNITY OF CENTER POINT. WHEREAS By Resolution dated July 26, 2004, Ken County authorized an application for grant funding in the amount of $60,880 from the Texas Water Development Board under the Smal] Community Hardship Program and the Disadvantaged Communities funds for Planning and Engineering Design for a Wastewater Collection System for the Community of Center Point; and WHEREAS By Resolution dated September 22, 2004, the Upper Guadalupe River Authority (UGRA) set forth its support of Ken County's effort to undertake development of a Wastewater Collection System for the Community of Center Point, and appropriated matching funds in the amount of $60,880 in its budget; and WHEREAS On May ] 3, 2005, Kerr County was notified by the Texas Water Development Board that funding was no longer available under the above-referenced programs; and WHEREAS By Resolution dated September 12, 2005, Kerr County appropriated funds for professional services to facilitate preparations for reapplication to the Texas Water Development Boazd far consideration under its Regional Water Supply and Wastewater Facilities Planning; now therefore BE PT RESOLVED That Kerr County reaffirms its desire to obtain grant funding for Planning and Engineering Design for a Wastewater Collection system for the Community of Center Point and authorizes reapplication to Texas Water Developmett Board; and that Kerr Courny Judge Pat Tinley and/or Precinct Two Commissioner Bill Williams are designated and authorized to represent Kerr County for the purpose of furnishing such information and executing such documents as required; and be it further RESOLVED That Kerr Couttty gratefully acknowledges the commitment of UGRA for matching funds and pledges In-Kind services as may be necessary.
