EXECUTE WRITTEN AGREEMENT AUTHORIZING CRIME VICTIMS'
RIGHTS COORDINATOR TO UTILIZE OFFICE SPACE IN
COURTHOUSE AND ESTABLISH VALUE OF LEASED SPACE
Came to be heard this the 9th day of January, 2006, with a motion made by
Commissioner Letz, seconded by Commissioner Baldwin. The Court
unanimously approved by vote of 4-0-0 to:
Approve execution of written agreement authorizing Crime Victims' Rights
Coordinator to utilize office space in the courthouse during the grant period,
and establishing value of leased space for purposes of an in-kind match for
Victims of Crime Act Grant #VA-17504-01.

,w. AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE OFFICE SPACE
WHEREAS, Kerr County, in cooperation with the Kerr County Attorney's Office,
216a' Judicial District Attorney, 198`h District Attorney and local law enforcement
agencies, has obtained grant funding from the Office of the Govemor, Criminal Justice
Division, through the federal Victims of Crime Act for establishment of the Crime
Victims' Rights Coordinator program; and
WHEREAS, the Kerr County Judge and Commissioners Court have approved
Commissioners Court Order No. 28956, approving a resolution in support of
establishment of this Office, and the Kerr County Judge is the Authorized Official to act
on behalf of the County (Grantee Agency) in this matter; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor has approved the referenced application for
funding in Grant #VA-17504-01; and
WHEREAS, the parties have agreed that Kerr County will provide 200 +/-square
feet of office space for use by the Crime Victims' Rights Coordinator funded by this
grant as part of the cash match required by the grant; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that the fair market value for leased office space in this
community is approximately $.54 per square foot per month, making the cash match for
`"~ office space $108.00 per month; and
WHEREAS, the parties find that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Kerr
County for the county to provide this space to the Crime Victims' Rights Coordinator for
the purposes set out in Grant #VA-17504-01;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements
herein expressed, it is agreed as follows:
L TERM
The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. This
agreement shall remain in full force and effect through the end of the grant period. This
agreement may be terminated by mutual agreement of the parties at any time upon such
terms and conditions as the parties agree.
II. LEASED SPACE
The Kerr County Commissioners Court hereby approves and authorizes the use of
200+/- square feet in the Kerr County Courthouse by the Crime Victims' Rights
Coordinator established by Grant #VA-17504-01 during the initial grant period, for $108
per month, which amount will be considered part of the Grantee agency's cash match for
~-- the Grant Yeaz 2005-2006.
III. RENEWAL
The court further finds and approves an automatic renewal for successive one-year
periods following the initial yeaz, subject to the continuation of the Grant and the
agreement of the Project Director that the space is appropriate and adequate for the
purposes stated herein. All terms and covenants of this Agreement shall apply to all
renewal periods unless made in writing and approved by the Kerr County Commissioners
Court.
