These payments are not eligible for federal reimbursement; therefore, the OAG must pay for all expenses associated with processing these receipts with State funds. Processing the payments on orders established prior to January 1, 1994 has been cost prohibitive in the past. The OAG recently negotiated a new SDU contract that includes substantially lower payment processing rates than the previous contract. We would like to pass the benefits of the. new SDU contract along to the counties by offering to process, at no cost, pre-1994 child support payments made through the county. If you accept this offer, the OAG will begin redirecting these payments to the SDU in February 2006. We are requesting counties wait until the TXCSES/STRADUS Integration (TSI) project has been implemented before the pre-1994 order/case information is entered onto the OAG's system. TSI is scheduled for implementation in February 2006. We hope that notifying you now of our offer to process pre-1994 payments allows you time to obtain the necessary approval and begin redirecting your pre-1994 orders in February 2006. We hope our offer to process these payments will allow you to reallocate resources within your office to other critical child support functions. Attached is a procedures document that outlines the requirements and processes for redirecting child support payments in orders established prior to January 1, ] 994 to the SDU.
