See Agenda Request Rule Adopted by Commissioner's Court. to Glenn, Thanks for your quick action on providing the new power and a/c for the computer room. The work is complete with the exception of a follow up visit after the new equipment is installed to adjust the a/c. The budget from the Odyssey software project is $7,100. Space heaters: A space heater killed a computer today in the county clerk's office. The space heater was pointed at the computer and the error was thermal overload. Price to replace in time and material $1,100. I also found a space heater plugged into a receptacle where the cable was smashed against the wall by a book rack. It would potentially have caused a fire. Before we have another computer failure or worse yet a fire; I recommend that we co-sponsor a commissioners court agenda item for a court order banning portable space heaters from county buildings. John D. Trolinger Ken County IT Manager This has been a fire safety issue that needs immediate attention. The use of heaters and other personal appliances have created problems for computers and electrical service for essential equipment. We tired a couple of years ago to get this done. This issue was not corrected and now we are in need of help through Commissioners' Court. THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE. Glenn Holekamp Ken County Facilities Director
