Agenda Item Backup Statement The 3.1 mile stretch of SH 27, that parallels Kerrville-Ken County Airport from the intersection of Al Mooney Road to just East of Center Point is posted by TxDOT for 70 mph. In recent years, there have been many vehicle collisions in this area, and neaz the airport entrance, resulting in serious injury or death to drivers and passengers. In response to several contacts received, I am requesting Commissioners' Court to consider a formal request to TxDOT to lower the speed limit on SH 27 to 55 mph in any azea between Kerrville City limits and Center Point where a higher speed limit is posted.
