See Agenda Request Rule adopted by Commissioners Court. #29661 RESOLUTION WHEREAS Center Point Volunteer Fire Department is applying for grant funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, for the acquisition of a new multi-purpose 2000 gallon pumper-tanker truck and training funds for fire fighting and defensive driving; and WHEREAS The Center Point Volunteer Fire Department has, since its inception, provided fire fighting and related services to its immediate community as well as a large portion of Eastern Kerr County; and WHEREAS The Center Point VFD provides mutual aid and assistance W other VFDs in the Hill Country when requested; and WHEREAS The need to continually upgrade and provide new and additional equipment and training to safeguard the area's citizens is ongoing; and WHEREAS The Center Point VFD works diligently to raise operating funds locally, and Kerr County supports financially this and other VFDs within the County; now therefore be it RESOLVED That Kerr County Commissioners' Court expresses its support for the Center Point VFD grant application to FEMA/Dept. of Homeland Security for equipment and training funds, and requests favorable consideration thereof, and be it further RESOLVED That this Resolution of Support be forwarded to the Assistant Secretary, OtFiee of Grants and Training, Dept. of Homeland Security, Washington D.C, and a copy to Center Point Volunteer Firc Department.
