Adopt Resolution authorizing Kerr County to submit an application for a

	EnGosed are the following items for the County's proposed 2007-08 Texas Community
	Development Block Grant application:
	Resolution to Apply-authorizes submittal of an application for the 2007-08 Texas Community
	Development Block Grant assistance.
	The project will construct public sewer lines and make connections along Ranchero Road
	(south side from SH 16 to Ripplewood and north side at Southwind Mobile Home Park) and on
	Quail Valley Road.
	As we discussed, there is no commitment of match in the County's resolution. If necessary after
	the UGRA meetings on 11/14 (Committee) and 11/22 (Board) the Court can consider a brief
	resolution committing in-kind road repairs as match.
	Please place this item on your November 13, 2006 Court Agenda.
	Suggested agenda item: Discuss and consider resolution fo apply for 2007-08 Texas
	Community Development Block Grant assistance under the Co/onia Fund.
	We will not attend the Court meeting unless you need us there (I'll be in West Texas).

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION OF RERR COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIAZING THE SUBMISSION OF A 2007-2008 TEXAS COMMUNTTY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF RURAL COMM[JNI'I'Y AFFAIRS FOR THE
COLONIA FUND; AND AUTHORIZ.IN6 THE COUNTY J[JDCiE TO ACT AS THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE COUNTY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE
TEXAS COMMUNrI'Y DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS Kerr CounTy desires to develop a viable community, including decent
housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic
opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income; and
WHEREAS certain conditions exist within the community which represent a risk to the
public health and safety; and
WHEREAS it is necessary and in the best interests of Kerr County to apply for funding
under the 2007-08 Texas Community Development Block Grant Program;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. That a 2007-2008 Texas Community Development Block
Grant application is hereby authorized to be filed with the Office of Rural
Community Affairs for funding consideration under the Colonia Fund;
Section 2. That the application be for up to $500,000 of grant funds to
achieve the following activities: first-time public sewer system
construction in the Kerrville South Colonia area along Ranchero and Quail
Valley Roads.
Section 3. That the County Judge is designated as the Chief Executive
Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection
with this application and participation in the Texas Community
Development Block Grant Program.
