We have one item on the agenda, and that is interview candidates or applicants for the Commissioners Court Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant and discuss and take appropriate action to make an offer or offers of employment to applicant or applicants selected. It's indicated that this matter is to be conducted in closed or executive session, so does any member of the Court have anything to offer at this time in open or public session before we go into closed or executive session? If not, we will go out of open or public session at 10:05, and into closed or executive session for the purpose of interviewing candidates. (The open session was closed at 10:05 a.m., and an executive session was held, the transcript of which is contained in a separate document.) Y: Okay. Before daylight savings time, I guess I was safe. At this time, does any member of the Court have anything to offer in open or public session as a result of matters discussed in -- in closed or executive session? COMMISSIONER LETZ: Not at this time. JUDGE TINLEY: Hearing nothing, we will stand in recess, subject to the call of the Chair. (Recess taken from 11:58 a.m. to 12:02 p.m.) JUDGE TINLEY: Okay, let's come back to order. We were in recess. We're now in order again. Does any member of the Court have anything to offer with respect to the agenda item as published? COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Do you have any words for us, Ms. Hyde? COMMISSIONER LETZ: It's yes, right? (MS. Hyde nodded.) COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Okay. COMMISSIONER LETZ: I make a motion that we offer -- make the offer to -- MS. HYDE: Jody Grinstead. Do we have an understanding as to when she can be on board? MS. HYDE: December 18th. That's a Monday. JUDGE TINLEY: We have a motion and a second. Any further question or -- COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: I have a question. Is there a -- let me think of the terminology here -- a 6-month probationary period? Is there -- is there such a thing? COMMISSIONER LETZ: In our personnel policy? MS. HYDE: You have a -- we're an at-will status in addition to that, but yes, there is a 90-day and then a 6-month. And we are at will on both sides. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: On both sides. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Okay. JUDGE TINLEY: Any further question or comment on the motion? All in favor of the motion, signify by raising your right hand. (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) JUDGE TINLEY: All opposed, same sign. (No response.) JUDGE TINLEY: The motion does carry. Any further I business? COMMISSIONER NICHOLSON: Could I ask you a couple of questions in a second, Commissioner? The Court unanimously approved by vote of 4-0-0 to: Offer the position to Jody Grinstead at a 19/3 step and grade, which is $30,265, with her starting date to be December 18, 2006.
