Court unanimously approved by vote of 3-0-0 to:
Authorize to elect purchase option for the three pieces of equipment, and to
obtain the appropriate finances with the assistance of the Auditor.

RE: 06-07 Budgeted Leases for Two 12-H Motor Graders and One 924 Loader
We came to you a few weeks ago to ask for permission to go out for bid on three pieces of
equipment with leases that would expire this budget yeaz. After talking with the sales
representatives we found the replacement cost to lease will be double the prices we currently
pay.
There is a balloon payment due at the end of each lease. In the past Holt of San Antonio has
purchased the equipment for the balloon and we have gotten new machines. The equipment we
currently have is in good shape and since the cost has doubled we would like to purchase the
machines.
»- I have talked with the auditor and we can finance them on an 84 month purchase plan and pay
them off in 60 months and keep the cost near what we are currently paying.
Current Lease Rates:

Contract K#146075 12-H Maintainer Maz. 07 1,295/mo Balloon $100,305.01
Contract # 202160 924 Loader Feb 07 1,126/mo Balloon $ 38,624.00
Depending on amortization and interest rate we should come in at $100 to $150 per month more
verses double our current rate.
At this time we ask permission to work with the auditor to find financing to purchase instead of
lease.
