THIS REQUEST RECEIVED BY: REQUEST RECEIVED ON: All Agenda Requests will be screened by the County Judge's Office to determine if adequate information has been prepared for the Court's formal consideration and action at time of Court Meetings. Your cooperation will be appreciated and contribute towards your request being addressed at the earliest opportunity. See Agenda Request Rules Adopted by Commissioners' Court, Court Order No. 25722. RESOLUTION WHEREAS Ken County and the City of Kemille fund and operate separate and distinct law enforcement agencies; and WHEREAS Both law enforcement agencies staff and operate separate law enforcement and emergency dispatching units; and WHEREAS The Kerr Emergency 9-1-1 Network owns and is responsible for the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) equipment located in the Kerrville Police Department, and the City of Kerrville Police Department personnel answer calls at the 9-1-1 call taker work station(s); and WHEREAS It would appear that efficiencies and economies of scale could be realized from the consolidation of these dispatching units unto one common-purpose unit; and WHEREAS There is a need to gather information and identify issues related to consolidation of dispatch operations for presentation to the respective governmental bodies; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That Ken County Commissioners Court and the Kemille City Council agree to the formation of a Select Committee to study all aspects of a possible consolidation of dispatch operations; and be it further RESOLVED That the following persons/agencies participate in the work of this committee: Kerr County. Sheriff, City of Kerrville Chief of Police, Kerr Emergency 9-1-1 Network Director, Kerrville Fire/EMS representative, Kerr County VFDlIs` Responder representative, City Manager or designee, County Auditor, and representatives(s) from Kerr County Commissioners' Court and Kerrville City Council; and be it further RESOLVED That the Select Committee, at the conclusion of its deliberations, will prepare a ftnal report detailing its findings and conclusions with recomtnendations for presentation to Kerr County Commissioners' Court and the Kerrville City Council This was adopted at the 12/27/06 Commissioners' Court.
