See Agenda Request Rule adopted by Commissioners Court. #30185 RESOLUTION A Resolution of Kerr County Commissioners' Court expressing thanks and gratitude to Lt. General Murphy A. Chesney, USAF (Ret.) for his service to our nation and community. WHEREAS Lt. General Murphy A. Chesney, USAF (Retired) is leaving Kerr County to take up residence in the Airforce Village in San Antonio; and WHEREAS Gen. Chesney, for many years, served as the Medical Director of the Kerrville VA Hospital, and played a major role within the Veterans' community in its fight to keep CARES from closing the Kerrville VA Hospital; and WHEREAS Gen. Chesney served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hill Country Veterans' Council since its inception, and was a keen observer of the activities of the Kerrville VA Hospital for the Veterans' Council; and WHEREAS Gen. Chesney was the chief advisor to the Hill Country Veterans' Council as a Doctor, General Officer, and VA Administrator, and testified before Congressional Medical Evaluation Committees on behalf of the Kerrville VA Hospital; and WHEREAS Gen. and Mrs. Chesney were valued citizens in our community whose presence will be missed; now therefore be it RESOLVED That Kerr County Commissioners' Court by adoption of this Resolution extends its thanks and appreciation to Gen. Murphy A. Chesney for his contribution to our community, but in particular for his stellar efforts in conjunction with the Hill Country Veterans' Council to keep the Kerrville VA Hospital open and serving the needs of our Armed Forces Veterans.
