Dear Judge Tinley,
Please accept this request to hold the Rio de Vino Triathlon (800 meter swim; 18-mile
bike; SK run) at Kerr County Park, September 1, 2007, 7AM. We anticipate
approximately 300 participants and to be done with the event, including clean-up by 2pm.
Below is a projected timeline.
~- Friday, Aug. 31 12-6PM (set-up)
Saturday, Sept. 1 6AM Athlete check-in
6:45AM Swim warm-up/Announcements
7AM Swim start
7AM Police in place to monitor traffic for bike crossing
7:10=8AM Cyclists on bike course
LOAM Cyclists done
10:30AM Run done; awards ceremony & post-run party.
11AM-2PM teaz-down, clean up.
Swim is inside the park in the river; run starts in KSP, crosses the bridge to the county
side and back to KSP; the bike portion exits the park to Hwy 27E/re-enters at Loop 534
via Hwy 173. Upon approval of our event, we will meet with the police to discuss any
street monitoring/closures. I have sent a letter of request to TXDOT to use Hwy 27/173.
Soler's Tri Sports and Roger Soler's Sports produce approximately 40 multi-sport events
a yeaz in the San Antonio/South Texas area. Please visit www.ro~ersoler.com for more

Bike 15-mile Course Route
1. Start at Transition area (adjacent to the boat ramp of KSP).
2. Proceed over the small bridge to the County Park.
3. Proceed on Riverside Drive to Hwy 27 East.
4. Proceed on 27E; tum right onto Willow Bend Drive.
5. Turn right onto Center Point River Road.
6. Stay on CPRR until Wharton; turn right onto Wharton.
7. Stay on Wharton until Hwy 173.
8. Turn right (North) on Hwy 173.
9. Stay on 173 until Loop 534; turn right onto 534.
10. Enter KSP Park from the side entrance on Loop 534 (before the big bridge).
11. Bike course marked with chalk, cones, signage and volunteers.
Rio de Vino SK Run Course
1. Start at Transition area (adjacent to the boat ramp of KSP).
2. Proceed to the bridge to the County Park.
3. Proceed on Riverside Drive, then the paved driveway along the river, heading
back towards the bridge.
4. Cross the bridge; finish at the Transition azea.
,._ 5. Run course marked with chalk, cones, signage and volunteers.
The transition area is setup adjacent to the boat ramp on the KSP side (like last yeaz).
Parking will be under the big bridge, starting at 5:45am (like last yeaz).
Two Port-o-potties will be at the opposite end of the boat ramp/transition finish, in the
direction of the park main entrance.
