COUNTY
Came to be heard this the .25th day of June, 2007, with a motiion made by
Commissioner Oehler, seconded by Commissioners Letz. The Court unanimously
approved by vote of 3-0-0 to:
Make space available to Cameron County in the event of a disaster, to house
juveniles, providing there is space available and that they provide staffing to
handle the children that are placed here, and pay all expenses incurred.

Dear Mr. Stanton:
I am currently following up on our yearly requests in regards to your cooperation with our
emergency evacuation procedures in Cameron County.
The understanding is that in the event of an emergency situation, such as hurricane or other natural
disaster, when and if Cameron County is ordered to evacuate, yourfacility in Kerr Gounty will temporarily
accommodate our juveniles as space permits.
In the event of an emergency, such as a hurricane or other natural disaster, our Chief Juvenile
Probation Officer, Tommy Ramirez, Jr., will authorize the release of as many juveniles as possible.
Those juveniles that are not released would #hen be evacuated from our center and transported to your
facility, We will then make contact with you at the earliest possible time to find out how much space is
available and advise you of our travel plans, including estimated time of arrival,
We have, in past occasions, been able to count on your assistance and hope to continue with your
cooperation. if this arrangement is acceptable, please sign below and fax me a copy for my records.
