by vote of 2-0-0 to:
Appoint Commissioners Oehler and Letz and Roy Walston as the Primary
Committee members, and solicit input from Maintenance, and possibly the Auditor
or other entities, as needed.

PLANNING DESIGN SERVICES
Proiect Information
The Kerr County Commissioners' Court is requesting planning and design services from firms
who can adequately demonstrate they have the experience, resources, and availability to guide
the County through an evaluation, site planning and design services to assist in the planning and
construction of future improvements and utilization of the Kerr County Youth Exhibit Center
and property.
If your firm is interested in submitting a proposal for service along with experience and
references for this project, please submit three (3) copies and one (1) original of your response
by November 7, 2007. Requests received after the date and time above will not be
considered. Mail or hand deliver to the address below. Faxed submissions of responses will not

A pre-submission meeting will be held on October 31, 2007 at 10:00 AM at 3705 Highway 27
E to review the projects that are to be designed. All parties are encouraged to attend this
meeting, but it is not mandatory.
It is understood that Kerr County reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all responses to
this RFQ as it shall deem to be in the best interest of Kerr County.
Proposals received will be reviewed by a Planning Committee appointed by the Commissioners'
Court. Interviews may be conducted with the firms most qualified. Additional information may
be required at that time. Negotiations will begin with the firm determined to be most qualified
for the project. Negotiations may include selection of specific services as is in the best interest
of Kerr County. The selected firm must be prepared to enter negotiations with each service
individually represented by costs and necessity to the overall project. Kerr County may elect to
contract for any or all of the proposed services after negotiations. The Kerr County
Commissioners' Court will make the final selection and approve the proposed contract.
Scope of Services
The intent of this solicitation is to obtain professional services of a qualified firm(s) to work with
Kerr County to develop plans and specifications for the specified project. The Scope of Services
will include coordination with the appropriate related entities of Kerr County government
including but not. limited to, the Commissioners' Court, Information Technology, Building
Maintenance and Extension Agent personnel and support services related thereto.
Proiect Description
Kerr County has an existing Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center (AG Barn) that is located at 3705
Highway 27 E. The existing building will be renovated and expanded to be utilized for storage,
exhibit hall, animal pens and barns, outdoor/indoor arenas and other various types of uses.
Proiect Start Date
The County would like to begin renovations/expansion on the building in 2008.

1. Professional Liability Insurance: please provide limits per project, policy
aggregate, and any claims asserted against you within the past five years.
2. Statement on firm's availability to Kerr County for the project.
