CONTRACT FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION DUTIES Whereas, Kerr County has determined that in the spirit of transparent government and with the intent of improving public awareness, it would be in the public interest of the citizens of Kerr County to disseminate County services information by public forum; Whereas Rosa Lavender(Contractor) has prior journalism experience and desires to assist the County with information publication; IT IS AGREED between the parties that Contractor shall research, write, take appropriate photographs, and submit no less than two articles per calendar month to county newspapers. Articles shall be approved in a timely manner prior to publication by the designated Commissioners Court representative. County newspapers shall include any and all general publication newspapers edited and assimilated in Kerr County. Contractor's public information duties are independent of her normal duties as Crime Stoppers Coordinator for the County. Contractor shall be an independent contractor for purposes of this contract and shall be responsible for supplying all of her own equipment and resources. County shall not have any liability for damages, injuries or any other loss incurred by contractor. Contractor shall be compensated $1500.00 per budget year to be paid in monthly amounts of $125.00 per month. The contract shall be prorated for the current budget year. All funding for said contract shall come from current revenues. Funding is subject to annual budget as approved by Commissioners Court. This contract may be terminated for any reason or no reason by either party with 30 days written notice to the other party. Venue and jurisdiction shall be in Kerr County, Texas.
