RESOLUTION A Resolution of Kerr County Commissioners' Court and the City Council of the City of Kerrville approving and adopting the Kerrville/Kerr County Economic Development Strategic Plan and establishing an Economic Development Incentives Committee. WHEREAS Kerr County and the City of Kerrville possess unique natural, social, educational, medical and other attributes that make the area attractive to existing and prospective businesses; and WHEREAS A widespread effort was utilized to include community leaders and various entities input into the study including comprehensive surveys of businesses and the community at large in Kerr County and the City of Kerrville; and WHEREAS The taxpayers of Kerr County and the City of Kerrville, in order to benefit from sustainable economic growth in the area and to develop a unified strategy, deem it necessary for both governmental entities to establish guidelines, priorities, policies and direction relating to Economic Development; and WHEREAS Any effort of the County and City to use public resources to retain or attract business development should be based on sustainable information, and sound economic principles to be publicly justifiable and rewarding; and WHEREAS The Commissioners' Court of Kerr County and the City Council of the City of Kerrville believe it is in the public interest to approve and adopt the Kerrville/Kerr County Economic Development Strategic Plan and establish an Economic Development Incentives Committee; now therefore be it RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF KERR COUNTY AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KERRVILLE Section 1. The County and City hereby approve and adopt the Kerrville/Kerr County Economic Development Strategic Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and Developed pursuant to a Joint Resolution of the City and County dated June 27, 2006. Section 2. Kerr County Commissioners' Court and the City Council of The City of Kerrville hereby jointly create an Economic Development Incentives Committee consisting of nine (9) members and comprised of the Kerr County Judge, President, Kerr Economic Development Foundation, President, Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, President, Kerrville Economic Improvement Corporation, Kerrville City Manager, Mayor, City of Ingram or the Mayor's designee, with the remaining members of the Committee to be designated by consensus of the members named herein who will explore, develop, and recommend economic incentives policies both generally and on a case-by-case basis. Section 3. The County and the City endorse participation in the Kerrville/Kerr County "Prosperity Team" as recommended in the Kerrville / Kerr County Economic Development Strategic Plan to market our collective Economic resources and assets.
