See Agenda Request Rule Adopted by Commissioners' Court. regl Cattle Guard Policy Whereas Kerr County is not an "open range county" and the population continues to increase, the use of cattle guards on County maintained roads will be phased out for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Kerr County. The cattle guards shall be removed during scheduled maintenance of roads when the following circumstances prevail: 1) When both sides of the road are no longer owned by one individual and/or both sides of the road are fenced. 2) When damage to vehicles or injury to occupants occurs. 3) When number of lots served by a road meets that of a Collector Road. The landowners adjacent to the cattle guards shall be notified by certified mail no less than six months prior to the scheduled removal date. The cattle guards will be removed and retained by Kerr County. The cattle guards will be disposed of pursuant to state statues.
