RE: DROP SCHUMANN RD NAME AND CHANGE NAME TO KC 476 NW, PCT. 4.
SCHUMANN RD IS LOCATED OFF OF US 290 IN KIMBLE COUNTY. KIMBLE
COUNTY CALLS THIS ROAD KC 476 UP TO THE KERB COUNTY LINE. KERR
COUNTY HAS MAINTAINED THEIR PORTION OF THIS ROAD FOR YEARS AND HAS
CALLED THE ROAD SCHUMANN RD. THE KERB COUNTY CLERKS OFFICE WAS
UNABLE TO LOCATE A COURT ORDER ON WHEN THIS ROAD WAS NAMED AND
APPROVED. MARK DEL TORO FROM THE 911 OFFICE HAS MET WITH MARY AND
PAUL SCHUMANN AT THE 911 OFFICE. THE SCHUMANNS ARE CONCERNED
ABOUT EMERGENCY VEHICLES LOCATING THEM AND THEIR NEIGHBORS
BECAUSE OF THE KERB COUNTY LINE BEING A COUPLE MILES BACK FROM KC
476. MARK DEL TORO FEELS THAT THE NAME SCHUMANN RD SHOULD BE
DROPPED AND THE ENTIRE ROAD SHOULD BE CALLED KC 476 NW IN ORDER TO
MAKE IT LESS CONFUSING TRYING TO LOCATE SCHUMANN RD IN THE CASE OF
AN EMERGENCY. KIMBLE COUNTY HAS THE KC 476 SIGN UP 1N THE FRONT
PORTION OF 476, OFF OF US 290. KERR COUNTY CURRENTLY HAS A KERB
COUNTY MAINTENANCE BEGINS SIGN AT THE KERB COUNTY LINE. MARK DEL
TORO HAD A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH THE SCHUMANNS WEDNESDAY
MARCH 25, 2009 AND THEY ARE FINE WITH SCHUMANN RD BEING DROPPED IN
ORDER TO PROVIDE A MORE EFFICIENT EMERGENCY LOCATE IF NEEDED. THERE
ARE 7 RESIDENCES ON THIS KERB COUNTY PORTION OF THIS RD. MARK DEL
TORO HAS STATED THAT ALL RESIDENCE HAVE THERE ADDRESSES LISTED WITH
WINDSTREAM AS KC 476 NW ALREADY. THE APPRAISAL DISTRICT ALSO HAS
THEIR PHYSICAL ADDRESSES LISTED AT KC 476 NW.
MARK DEL TORO FROM THE 911 OFFICE IS HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL
QUESTIONS.
AT THIS TIME WE ASK THE COURT TO DROP THE ROAD NAME SCHUMANN RD
