See Agenda Request Rules Adopted by Commissioners' Court. ~t3~6~ RESOLUTION A Resolution of the Kerr County Commissioners' Court in support of the Former Texas Ranger Foundation Vision of the Texas Ranger History and Education Center in Kerrville, Texas. WHEREAS for 185 years the Texas Rangers have exemplified the values of courage, determination, dedication, respect and integrity that the Great State of Texas has appreciated and that the organization still encourages all 'Texans to follow these values every day; and WHEREAS the Rangers preserved Texas as a nation and a state when there was no one else to do that and their story of character and dedication needs to be told in history education today; and WHEREAS the need to instill values of courage, determination, dedication, respect and integrity in today's children by teaching the history of both the Rangers and Texas is great; and WHEREAS the Former Texas Ranger Foundation vision for a education center to tell the story of Ranger history can help develop and educate students of all ages and teach lessons of character building for today's citizen and future leaders; and WHEREAS the efforts by the Former Texas Ranger Foundation of establishing a capital campaign to raise funds to create the first ever Texas Rangers interactive education and history center in the country to celebrate, prese-ve and share the 1listory of the Texas Rangers; now therefore be it RESOLVED that the Kerr Countti~ Commissioners' Court: (1) Fully supports the Former Texas Ranger Foundation vision of the Texas Ranger History and Education Center to be located in Kerrville, Texas. (2) Strongly recommends the need for all economic partners to create a master plan in 2009 for business development in the downtown district and surrounding areas that would assist the Former Texas Ranger Foundation in planning for this important education center; and be it further RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Former Texas Ranger Foundation.
