approved by a vote of 4-0-0 to:
Approve Joint Proclamation with the City of Kerrville designating August 30, 2009 -
September 5, 2009 as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Week in the Hill Country.

JOIhlT PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Youth mer~toring is the process of matching mentors with young
people who need or want a caring, responsible adult in their
lives; and
WHEREAS, Mentoring is a support system, offering guidance and friendship
to young persons that may not always have a positive role
model; and
WHEREAS, A mentor helps a young person define goals and find ways to
achieve them; and
WHEREAS, Mentoring has a significant impact on the youth of the
community and helps children reach their potential through
professionally supported one-to-one relationships; and
WHEREAS, The youth of the community are our most treasured assets; and
WHEREAS, Mentoring is a rewarding donation of time and energy to help fill
an invaluable role in a young person's life;
NOW, THEREFORE, Kerr County and the City of Kerrville will join forces to
proclaim August 30, 2009 through September 5, 2009 as:
"MENTORING WEEK"
