Kerr County's unemployment rate, meanwhile, registered slightly below the overall
jobless rate of 5.3 percent for the 12-county Alamo Workforce Development Area
(WDA), which includes Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe,
Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson counties. Gillespie County registered the
lowest unemployment rate in the Alamo Area in December at 3.5 percent.
The unadjusted unemployment rate for the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area
(MSA) in December registered 5.3 percent, down from 5.4 percent in November. The
Texas unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate for December, meanwhile, increased to
5.7 percent while the National unadjusted (actual) rate increased to 7.1 percent.
Comparatively, the state and National seasonally adjusted unemployment rates both
jumped to 6.0 and 7.2 percent respectively in December.

month was 5.0 percent, down from 5.3 percent in November.
