Gillespie County registered the lowest unemployment rate in the Alamo Area in December at 3.5 percent. The unadjusted unemployment rate for the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in December registered 5.3 percent, down from 5.4 percent in November. The Texas unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate for December, meanwhile, increased to 5.7 percent while the National unadjusted (actual) rate increased to 7.1 percent.
