The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss the County's possible participation in the program, which provides up to $500,000 for construction of public infrastructure that improves the conditions of unincorporated "colonia" areas within 150 miles of the Texas- Mexico border. Previously Kerr County has used these funds for the construction of public sewer facilities serving the Kerrville South area. Possible projects would be further sewer facility construction in Kerrville South and in the Blue Ridge-Ocaso area between Kerrville and Ingram. Bill Williams From: Eric Hartzell [eric@grantworks.net] Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2009 10:32 AM To: charlieh@kerrville.org Cc: 'Bill Williams' Subject: Kerr County Colonia Project 2009-10 Hello Charlie, Commissioner Williams said you wanted a count of the number of households in the proposed service areas for the remainder of Kerrville South and in the Blue Ridge-Ocaso areas (areas not already served nor to be served in the current project). We haven't conducted the new door-to-door income surveys yet, but have a estimated unit count for you: Quail Valley 27 homes Apartments 52 units Kerrville South (at-large) 15 Total K-S 94 housing units The Kerrville South at-large number is an estimate of the number of residents who didn't previously connect in Loyal Valley-this may have changed with move-ins and outs. I assume we'll need to include expansion of the Quail Valley lift station in the proposed project as well once you run the numbers since a1194 units would flow through that facility. Blue Ridge-Ocaso 40 (11 were connected in phase 1) The Commissioner also mentioned that you might want to have something for Council on the 9~'-I can't be there that day but I could attend the meeting on the 23~ if that works for you. We plan to hold the County's public hearing that evening as well, then Court on March 9 for final approval of the application. In the meantime 1'll ask Tetratech to start work on the budget table. I'll ask them to get in touch with you on the lift station requirements as well if you'd like. Eric Hartzell GrantWorks 512-420-0303 erico~grantworks.r~et 02/03/2009
