JOINT RESOLUTION City of Kerrville, Texas, Resolution No. X24_2009 Kerr Connty, Texas, Resolution No. A JOIN"T RESOLUTION BY AND BETWEEN TIIE CITE' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KERRV[LLE AND 'THE COM1~11SS[ONERS' COURT OF KERB COUNTY SUPPORTING USE OF FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE HILL COUNTRY YOUTH EXHIBIT CENTER. WHEREAS Federal legislation to stimulate the American economy and create jobs by dedicating funds to be invested in public improvement projects is in the process of enachnent; and WHEREAS The City of Kerrville ("City") and Kerr County ("County") recognize that this economic stimulus effort includes the possibility of federal funding for public local improvement and public safety projects: and WHEREAS The Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center has served the agricultural and general venue needs of Kerr County and City of Kerrville residents for more than fifty years, and WHEREAS These facilities are outmoded and can no longer serve the needs of our growing communities and must be replaced with new state-of--the-art facilities for our youth and adult populations, and WHEREAS The City Council of the City of Kerrville, and Commissioners' Court of Kerr County approve replacement of the Hill Country Youth F,xhibit Center and desires to submit these projects to the appropriate federal and/or state agencies for inclusion in a request to the federal government for funding pursuant to economic stimulus guidelines; now therefore be it RESOLVED That the City of Kerrville, Texas, and Kerr County, Texas, do hereby approve the project enumerated herein, and the Mayor and County Judge are authorized and directed to submit this Joint Resolution to the appropriate federal and/or state agencies and take whatever other action(s) required pursuant to federal economic stimulus guidelines in pursuit of federal grant funding; and be it further RESOLVED That copies of this Resolution be submitted to Congressman Lamar Smith and appropriate federal and state agencies. ~~ APPROVED BY THE CITY OF KERRVILLE ON THE _ ~~ ~ DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2009.
