Since this is a free service to their offices,l believe this would be a benefit to Department Heads when choosing vendors for those discretionary service needs not meeting the requirements of the bidding. pr©cess. At Iwlr. Emerson's recommendation, l am enciasin€~ a copy of the information which has been given to the Departments. Also, if you would like me to explain our service in better detail, l would be happy to meet or present if needed. Sincerely, Margie )etton Guardian Vendor Management Program T~~ You trust your vendors with your personnel, clients, property and data, but how do you verify that trust? ~s'k You look at so many ways to reduce the risk to your business, yet often overlook the vendor's employees and the risk they may bring to you. CO~ Vendors have told us the service we provide is invaluable to them and an excellent way to verify the honesty they provide. They pay a small membership fee so you incur no cost at all. r-~~r In today's world, trust is not something we can afford to give or take lightly. Criminals in the 21st century are sophisticated and have developed remarkable methods to cheat the system and put you at risk. It's no longer enough to assume that the people we do business with every day are morally driven, or to presume they adhere to our personal measure of goodwill. Considering the widespread epidemic of crime, blind trust is not only naive...it's dangerous. You need a reliable, efficient method to evaluate the integrity and trustworthiness of the businesses you engage. You need the means to safeguard you and your client's personal resources from potential threats. The Guardian Vendor Management program gives you access to that assurance. Rlsk Your employees and clients trust you to make every effort to reduce any type of risk they may be exposed to while on your location or doing business with you. A risk that has been overlooked for too long is the inability to manage the risk your vendors and their employees may bring to you. In a recent survey of consumers, 100% of respondents agreed that they have the right to know if the person they are allowing onto their property is a criminal, about 75% said they trusted the provider to assure they were not criminals, and less than 10°x6 said they knew for sure they had verifiable inf©rmation with that assurance. 100% of the personnel receiving our photo IDs have passed a thorough criminal background check. Recently, while performing criminal background checks on a service company, we discovered an employee with an open sex offender case. The employer had no idea he was sending his employee to his customer's location and risking his client's safety and his own reputation. The employer had performed background checks upon hire yet no checks were performed on a regular basis after hire. To say the least, he was grateful for the service. We live in a litigious society and we need to be proactive in looking for ways to reduce all possible risk to our company. Cost Can you imagine what an incident would cost your company if a vendor or their employee were at fault? What would the cost savings be to your company and its reputation if this program prevented that incident? Doing business in this day and time requires vendors to be honest and trustworthy, yet they have no way to show they are what they say they are. We fili that need. We verify their company status, licensing, financial stability, and perform thorough criminal background checks on the ownership and the employees they send to your facility. They pay a low monthly fee for this service in an effort to best inform their customers of this commitment to you. Your cost for this service is therefore "Laid in Full" by the vendor and you incur no cost. This is a win/ win for all. If clients or friends ask for a referral for any type of business, I always refer using members of BCC because they share our concern of protection." Robin Meirs -Nationwide Insurance Dear Trusted Official, As you may already know, when I started the consumer protection company, Senior Choices, here in Kerrville 8 years ago, my main focus was to protect elderly citizens from unscrupulous business people coming onto their property or into their homes. 1 am contacting you today because our efforts have greatly expanded to protecting not dust seniors, but also to safeguard the sensitive data and property within business offices like yours. How do you decide which service personnel to trust around this data? You need a reliable, efficient method of evaluating the integrity of the businesses you engage. Unfortunately, over the last 8 years, we have discovered Borne startling facts: • Did you know that many employers do not conduct thorough background checks on their employees at all or only when they are first hired? • Are you aware that some businesses who do conduct background checks sometimes hire the criminals anyway? Your vendors may claim they are honest and trustworthy, and they probably are. We simply verify that claim. And we do this at no cost to you. hope you will take the time to read the following material and when engaging non-bid services, consider using businesses whose employees have been double checked and wear the BCC shield and photo ID. It's no longer enough to assume that the people we do business with every day are morally driven, to presume they adhere to our personal measure of goodwill. Considering the widespread epidemic of crime, blind trust is not only naive...it's dangerous. Also, if you would like to nominate any vendors you are currently using who are not yet listed on our website, please contact me. 895-7778 or margie@betterconsumerchoices.com.
