The workshop agenda item is to participate in a workshop with David Kruse regarding the census PSAP data and maps as prepared by AACOG for Kerr County. It's my understanding that some of the Commissioners had some concerns with the maps as previously presented to us, the draft maps from -- that, according to my understanding, came from the Appraisal District, dealing with new residential structures that were put in place since the last census, and whether or not those maps were accurate or appropriate. And there was a need to discuss these various matters with the census representatives. Is that generally a correct understanding? COMMISSIONER LETZ: That's correct. JUDGE TINLEY: And the -- it's the desire of the Commissioners at this point, insofar as their respective precincts are concerned, to sit down and go over that map with Mr. Kruse and/or other representatives of the census 3-3-09 wk 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 activities to try and straighten out whatever deficiencies may exist? COMMISSIONER LETZ: Correct. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: That's correct. JUDGE TINLEY: Y'all are set up down at the County Court -- COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Mr. Kruse has the maps set up at the County Court at Law jury room. That's what we'll do. JUDGE TINLEY: Why don't I recess this meeting to allow you gentlemen to go on down there and start thrashing that around and working with Mr. Kruse. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: And find those houses on Lane Valley. Yes, sir. JUDGE TINLEY: I certainly hope you do. That's a terrible thing, to lose a house on Lane Valley. Okay, we'll recess the workshop down the hall to the County Court at Law. Thank you. (The workshop was recessed at 11:10 a.m., and reconvened at 11:42 a.m.) JUDGE TINLEY: Let's come back to order after our recess on our workshop agenda dealing with the census matters. The Commissioners have been meeting with the census representative, Mr. Kruse, and he's going to gather additional data and incorporate them in the maps, and those 3-3-C9 wk 4 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 will -- this matter will be presented again to the Court at our next regular meeting on Monday, March the 9th, and further consideration of census matters will be given at that time. That'll conclude the workshop, and we'll be adjourned at the workshop.
