Williams, seconded by Commissioner Letz, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of
4-0-0 to:

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION OF KERR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT REQUESTING FUNDING FROM 'CHE
ANIE;RICAN RECOVERY AND RF,INVESTMEN"T ACT OF 2009 FOR THE CENTERNOINT/EASTERN
KERR COUNTY WASTF,WA"I'ER AND WATER INFR,~STRUCTURE PROJF,CTS.
WHEREAS The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of ?009 has been passed by Congress and
si~~ned into law by the President of t}~e United States, and is to be used, in part, for public
improvement projects; and
WHEREAS Kerr County Commissioners' Court understands that portions of these economic stimulus
funds are to be desi~~nated for local public improvement and safety projects; and
WHEREAS The Center Point/Eastern Ken• County Wastewater and companion Water projects are
deemed to be of vital importance to the citizens of Kerr County by eliminating environ-
mental issues, promoting conjunctive use of surface and ground water resources, makin~~
available areas for affordable housin~~ and enabling ~~eneral economic development. and
WHf=.REAS l~he Texas Water Development Board has accepted this project under the guidelines for
its Economically Distressed Areas Program, and awarded an initial grant for planning and
preliminary engineering; now therefore be it
RESOLVED That Kerr County Commissioners' Court hereby approves the submission of the Center
Point'Eastern Kerr County projects for consideration for funding under the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of ?009; and be it further
RESOLVED That this Resolution and any supporting documentation for this project that may be
required be forwarded to Congressman Lamar Smith, Senators John Cornyn and
1{a_v Bailey Hutchison so that it may be directed to the appropriate federal andior state
a~~encies for evaluation and fundin~~ consideration.
