March 2, 2010 is the Gubenatorial Primary Election day. I am requesting my office (all
departments) be open as we expect this to be a large turn out and all personnel are needed to help
with the phones.
Following are from the Texas Election Laws 2010-2011 edition:
Section 12.004 (c) The registrar's office shall remain open for voter registration activities
during the hours the polls are required to be open for voting on the date of any general or
primary election in which a statewide office appears on the ballot or any other election held in
the county on a uniform election date.
Section 83.011. Office hours on election .The early voting clerk's office shall remain open
for early voting activities during the hours the polls are required to be open for voting on election
day.
With the courts permission I will allow my employees to have an alternate date off for this
holiday.
