I attached Google aerial map of Westwood Area. MSN Maps &Google Maps does not label "Eugene Lane". I discussed the alignment with Mi1ce Cowazd: The concept of Westwood & Hermann Sons Rd is much better than the current situation. The submittal for Westwood / Hermann Sons Rd does not address Eugene Lane and does not connect to SH 27 duectly. The purpose ofthe re-alignment is to clean up this area with a new single intersection. 1) The current Westwood intersection will be closed at SH 27, this will require Eugene Lane to: a) Re-align to line up with the New Westwood. (Require ROW) b) Allow for the right turn /left turn movement (Radius to handle trailers) and traffic enter SH 27 at the new Westwood / Hermann Son Intersection. 2) TxDOT is currently starting to scope our project and will start design - work probably within the month as soon as survey is complete. The preliminary scope is to provide two-way left tum lane to the existing businesses, Little League Parking Lot Entrance and Hermann Sons. The project is scheduled to LET July 2010. Construction would. start September or October 2010. We have limited funds and no hope for additional funds. TxDOT will focus on the work on SH 27 from Kendall County Line to West Creek Bridge. Our goal is to provide atwo-way left turn lane, a flashing beacon at Hermann Sons / Westwood Dr new location. a) If money is available TxDOT would construct the Hermann Son & Westwood Stub-out to the ROW lines. b) ff any additional money is available TxDOT would complete the Westwood re-alignment. The County needs to plan on providing some funding to do the Hermann Sons Rd from the existing roadway to the new intersection (ROW) as part of the partnership on this project. We both will have to coordinate the work so it can be finished and opened at the same time. If ?'s please get back with us, we will work on keeping you and Lynn in the loop.
