See Agenda Request Rules Adopted by Commissioners' Court. #31682 RESOLUTION CRIME VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK WHEREAS, Hundreds of Kerr County residents are victims of crime each year and seek help from the Kerr County Victims Services Department, Hill Country Crisis Council, Kids' Advocacy Place and other local agencies which provide victim services ;and WHEREAS, When crime occurs, the effects are often life-changing and victims often experience lingering difficulties, including feelings of vulnerability, fear and anger and seek assistance from victim advocates to help them through the criminal justice system and the recovery process; and WHEREAS, By educating victims of their rights, assisting them in exercising those rights and helping them rebuild their lives, these advocates improve the lives of crime victims in Kerr County and help make Kerr County and Texas a safer place; and WHEREAS, The week of April 18-24 has been designated by Texas Governor Rick Perry as Crime Victims' Rights Week in Texas, aweek-long awareness campaign to reinforce the importance victims' rights and helping our fellow Texans on the road to recovery with compassion and respect; Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved that the Commissioners Court of Kerr County does hereby officially proclaim the week of Apri118-24 to be Crime Victims' Rights Week in Kerr County, Texas, and urges all citizens to work together to help reduce violent crime in this county.
