I thought it was. 9 COMMISSIONER LETZ: That's quite a bit. 10 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: 17,1, mm-hmm. And 11 Steve was second, with 16,9. 12 JUDGE TINLEY: Appears to be, yeah. 13 COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Representative is 14 very, very difficult to live with when that happens, believe 15 me. 16 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Bet you're right. 17 COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Some kind of fiefdom, 18 all of a sudden, set up. 19 JUDGE TINLEY: At this point, I think it's in 20 order that there be a motion to approve the canvass of the 21 votes as indicated on the record. 22 COMMISSIONER LETZ: I move we approve the 23 canvassing the votes as read. 24 COMMISSIONER NICHOLSON: Second. 25 JUDGE TINLEY: Motion made and seconded for 11-12-04 6 1 approval. 'Cause 7 this is the official, I guess, tally of said votes. 8 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: The unopposed 9 candidates. 10 COMMISSIONER LETZ: All the unopposed 11 candidates in the local races. I don't know if we should 12 read them in or not, but it seems that, for future record, 13 it might not be a bad idea to have it memorializing the -- 14 MS. PIEPER: Let me run and get the names 15 real quick for you. 16 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: That's a good idea. 17 JUDGE TINLEY: Certainly. 18 COMMISSIONER NICHOLSON: What was the 19 Democrats' showing compared to historical levels? Was it up 20 some? 21 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: It's up. 22 COMMISSIONER LETZ: I'm not sure. 23 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: I think it's up a 24 little bit. 25 (Discussion off the record.) 11-12-04 7 1 JUDGE TINLEY: The local candidates who ran 2 opposed and for which, as I indicated, no votes were 3 actually cast, but who were listed on the ballot and who 4 were elected to office by virtue of the General Election, 5 are: Rex Emerson as Kerr County Attorney; W.R. Any further 19 question or discussion? All in favor of the motion, signify 20 by raising your right hand. 21 (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) 22 JUDGE TINLEY: All opposed, same sign. 23 (No response.) 24 JUDGE TINLEY: The motion does carry.
