"BUSTER" BALDWIN, Commissioner Pct. 1 24 WILLIAM "BILL" WILLIAMS, Commissioner Pct. 2 JONATHAN LETZ, Commissioner Pct. 3 25 DAVE NICHOLSON, Commissioner Pct. 4 2 1 On Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at approximately 3:30 p.m., 2 a special meeting of the Kerr County Commissioners Court was 3 held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Kerr County Courthouse, 4 Kerrville, Texas, and the following proceedings were had in 5 open court: 6 P R O C E E D I N G S 7 JUDGE TINLEY: Let me call to order the special 8 Commissioners Court meeting posted for Tuesday, April 18th, 9 2006, at 2:30 p.m. It's approximately an hour after that now, 10 as necessitated by the Kerr County Juvenile Facility Board of 11 Trustees meeting. We have one item on the agenda, and that is 12 to consider, discuss, and take appropriate action to authorize 13 hiring of experts for the E.B.A. lawsuit. With regard to this 14 matter, Mr. Emerson, is it your belief that we need to go 15 directly into executive session? 16 MR. EMERSON: Yes, sir, I think the discussion of 17 the case needs to take place in executive, and whatever order 18 y'all choose to take place in open afterwards. 19 JUDGE TINLEY: Very well. We will go out of open or 20 public session at 3:35. 21 (The open session was closed at 3:35 p.m., and an executive session was held, the transcript of which 22 is contained in a separate document.) 23 - - - - - - - - - - 24 JUDGE TINLEY: Okay. We will come back into open or 25 public session at 3:45. Does any member of the Court have 4-18-06 3 1 anything to offer with regard to the matters discussed in 2 executive session relative to the agenda item? 3 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: I would move that the Court 4 authorize the County Attorney to communicate with the law firm 5 of Shaddox, Compere, Walraven, and Good affirmatively with 6 respect to the hiring of experts for the E.B.A. lawsuit. 7 COMMISSIONER NICHOLSON: Second. 8 COMMISSIONER LETZ: With an amount not to exceed 9 $10,000. 10 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: That's fine. 11 COMMISSIONER NICHOLSON: Second. 12 JUDGE TINLEY: Motion made and seconded. Is there 13 any question or discussion on the motion? All in favor of the 14 motion, signify by raising your right hand. 15 (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) 16 JUDGE TINLEY: All opposed, same sign. 17 (No response.) 18 JUDGE TINLEY: The motion does carry.
