The workshop agenda item is to 10 participate in a workshop with David Kruse regarding the 11 census PSAP data and maps as prepared by AACOG for Kerr 12 County. It's my understanding that some of the Commissioners 13 had some concerns with the maps as previously presented to 14 us, the draft maps from -- that, according to my 15 understanding, came from the Appraisal District, dealing with 16 new residential structures that were put in place since the 17 last census, and whether or not those maps were accurate or 18 appropriate. And there was a need to discuss these various 19 matters with the census representatives. Is that generally a 20 correct understanding? 21 COMMISSIONER LETZ: That's correct. 22 JUDGE TINLEY: And the -- it's the desire of the 23 Commissioners at this point, insofar as their respective 24 precincts are concerned, to sit down and go over that map 25 with Mr. Kruse and/or other representatives of the census 3-3-09 wk 3 1 activities to try and straighten out whatever deficiencies 2 may exist? 3 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Correct. 4 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: That's correct. 5 JUDGE TINLEY: Y'all are set up down at the County 6 Court -- 7 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Mr. Kruse has the maps set 8 up at the County Court at Law jury room. That's what we'll 9 do. 10 JUDGE TINLEY: Why don't I recess this meeting to 11 allow you gentlemen to go on down there and start thrashing 12 that around and working with Mr. Kruse. 13 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: And find those houses on 14 Lane Valley. Yes, sir. 15 JUDGE TINLEY: I certainly hope you do. That's a 16 terrible thing, to lose a house on Lane Valley. Okay, we'll 17 recess the workshop down the hall to the County Court at Law. 18 Thank you. 19 (The workshop was recessed at 11:10 a.m., and reconvened at 11:42 a.m.) 20 - - - - - - - - - - 21 JUDGE TINLEY: Let's come back to order after our 22 recess on our workshop agenda dealing with the census 23 matters. The Commissioners have been meeting with the census 24 representative, Mr. Kruse, and he's going to gather 25 additional data and incorporate them in the maps, and those 3-3-09 wk 4 1 will -- this matter will be presented again to the Court at 2 our next regular meeting on Monday, March the 9th, and 3 further consideration of census matters will be given at that 4 time. That'll conclude the workshop, and we'll be adjourned 5 at the workshop. 6 (Workshop was adjourned at 11:42 a.m.) 7 - - - - - - - - - - 8 9 10 11 STATE OF TEXAS | 12 COUNTY OF KERR | 13 The above and foregoing is a true and complete 14 transcription of my stenotype notes taken in my capacity as 15 County Clerk of the Commissioners Court of Kerr County, 16 Texas, at the time and place heretofore set forth. 17 DATED at Kerrville, Texas, this 3rd day of March, 2009. 18 19 JANNETT PIEPER, Kerr County Clerk 20 BY: _________________________________ Kathy Banik, Deputy County Clerk 21 Certified Shorthand Reporter 22 23 24 25 3-3-09 wk
