We have mixed 16 feelings from our church, because Lesley and Rob are our lay 17 leaders, so you're not going to take a lot of their time, are 18 you? I'm just kidding. (Laughter.) We're honored to be 19 here. We appreciate all of you, and we certainly are 20 thankful for a packed house. What great support. Shall we 21 pray? 22 (Prayer.) 23 JUDGE TINLEY: Thank you, sir. 24 COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Thank you. 25 JUDGE TINLEY: If you would, please, let's go ahead 4-1-10 4 1 and do a pledge of allegiance this morning. If you would 2 please stand and join me in the pledge. 3 (Pledge of allegiance.) 4 JUDGE TINLEY: Thank you very much. Because it is 5 on the agenda, I'm going to ask if there's any member of the 6 public that wishes to be heard on a matter not listed on the 7 agenda. If so, please come forward at this time and tell us 8 what's on your mind. If you wish to be heard on any of the 9 agenda items, of course, you're -- you have the opportunity 10 to do so. There are participation forms at the rear of the 11 room. That helps me to know that you wish to be heard on an 12 agenda item when you fill one of those out. But if there's 13 any member of the public or audience wishing to be heard on 14 any matter that is not one of the listed agenda items, come 15 forward at this time and tell us what's on your mind. Seeing 16 no one coming forward, we will move on with our agenda. 17 First item is to consider, discuss, and take appropriate 18 action to approve the official bond of Kerr County Attorney 19 Rob Henneke. I've been presented with the official bond as 20 required by law by Western Surety Company. That has been 21 executed by Mr. Henneke, the principal on the bond, and it is 22 in the amount as required by law. 23 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Move we approve the bond for 24 Kerr County Attorney Rob Henneke. 25 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Second. 4-1-10 5 1 COMMISSIONER OEHLER: Second. 2 JUDGE TINLEY: Motion made and seconded for 3 approval of the bond in the agenda item. Question or 4 discussion? At this 10 time, I would like to recess the Commissioners Court meeting 11 for the purpose of swearing in Mr. Henneke as the new County 12 Attorney of Kerr County. So, at this time we'll be in recess 13 for that purpose. 14 (Recess taken from 8:36 a.m. to 8:41 a.m.) 15 - - - - - - - - - - 16 JUDGE TINLEY: At this time, I will reconvene the 17 Commissioners Court meeting, and we'll go to the second item 18 on the agenda. Consider, discuss, and take appropriate 19 action to approve the application of the County Attorney for 20 authority to appoint assistants and/or clerks. 21 COMMISSIONER LETZ: So moved. 22 COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Second. 23 JUDGE TINLEY: We have a motion and a second for 24 approval of the agenda item. Question or discussion on the 25 motion? Any comments or questions, concerns that you have, 4-1-10 6 1 Mr. Henneke? 2 MR. HENNEKE: No, Judge. Just other than pursuant 3 to Local Government Code, I request the authority to appoint 4 the assistants and staff in the County Attorney's office. 5 JUDGE TINLEY: Further question or discussion? All 6 in favor of the motion, signify by raising your right hand. 7 (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) 8 JUDGE TINLEY: All opposed, same sign. 9 (No response.) 10 JUDGE TINLEY: That motion does carry. There is 11 one item that I'd like to bring to the Court's attention 12 under Section 4, under the item of late bills. This bill was 13 actually before us at our last meeting. It was my oversight. 14 The bill was submitted by the contractor on our project out 15 at the Sheriff's Office, and it's some reimbursables that -- 16 that we owe the contractor. It was attached to the billing 17 that we approved, but it was attached separately, and we just 18 missed it. So, it's been approved by the architect. I'd 19 like the Court's approval to pay that billing. The amount is 20 19,000 -- 21 MS. MABRY: Approximately 19,000. It's $19,431.47. 22 COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: So moved. 23 COMMISSIONER OEHLER: Second. 24 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Second. 25 JUDGE TINLEY: Motion made and seconded for 4-1-10 7 1 approval of the bill as indicated.
