Good morning, ladies and 8 gentlemen. Let me belatedly call to order the special 9 meeting of the Kerr County Commissioners Court posted and 10 scheduled for Wednesday, November 14th, 2012, at 10 a.m. 11 It's a bit past that time now. This agenda item for 12 consideration this morning is to canvass the official 13 election results for the 2012 November general election as 14 per Texas Election Code, Section 67. The Elections 15 Department of Kerr County has provided me with the official 16 cumulative report of the Kerr County, Texas general election 17 conducted on November the 6th, 2012. If you'll bear with me 18 a bit, I will -- 19 MS. ALFORD: You don't have to worry about the 20 Headwaters 'cause they're going to do their own canvassing, 21 so you'll just start with the straight party. 22 JUDGE TINLEY: Okay. 23 MS. ALFORD: And then on the end is the Hunt ISD, 24 and you don't have to worry about theirs 'cause they'll do 25 their own canvassing also. 11-14-12 4 1 JUDGE TINLEY: Okay. If you folks will bear with 2 me a little bit, we've got a bunch of numbers to read through 3 here. First, in the straight party voting, the Republican 4 party polled 11,758 votes. Democratic party, 2,268. 5 Libertarian, 89, and Green party, 14. Total votes cast, 6 14,129. Over votes, 2. Under votes is 7,860. 7 In the presidential and vice presidential polling, 8 the Republican candidates, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, 9 received a total of 17,274 votes. Democratic, Barack Obama 10 and Joe Biden, total of 4,338 votes. Libertarian, Gary 11 Johnson and Jim Gray, 219 votes. Green party, Jill Stein and 12 Cheri Honkala, total of 43 votes. There were a number of 13 various write-in votes that I'll not enumerate at this time. 14 The total cast votes were 21,879, 5 over votes and 124 under 15 votes. 16 In the United States Senate race, Republican, Ted 17 Cruz, 16,493. Under votes, 7 201. 8 It appears the last one deals with the Hunt 9 Independent School District. As to the Kerr County results, 10 do I hear a motion to approve the canvass of the votes and 11 the results as noted into the record, and ask that the same 12 be certified as the official results of the election of Kerr 13 County? 14 COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: I move for approval. 15 COMMISSIONER OEHLER: Second. 16 JUDGE TINLEY: Motion made and seconded for 17 approval. Question or discussion on the motion? All in 18 favor of that motion, signify by raising your right hand. 19 (The motion carried by unanimous vote.) 20 JUDGE TINLEY: All opposed, same sign. 21 (No response.) 22 JUDGE TINLEY: The motion does carry.
