It's 9 a.m. I so declare, and the Kerr 3 County Commissioners' Court is in session. This is a 4 special bill pay session thanks to our illustrious Texas 5 Attorney General who has ruled that the way we have done 6 it for the past 150, 200 years is not correct anymore. 7 We gotta approve every bill, okay, so it's four more 8 Commissioners' meetings a month. This is one of them. 9 We'll get right to 1.1 on the agenda pay the 10 bills. 11 MRS. DOSS: Yes. You have a received a 12 detailed listing of all the bills. In summary Kerr 13 County fiscal year 17-18 total $3,106.35. Kerr County 14 fiscal year 18-19 totals $226,944.25. Adult Probation 15 fiscal year 18-19 totals $14,344.06. Airport fiscal 16 year 18-19 totals $2,822.00. Juvenile Probation fiscal 17 year 17-18 totals $126.90. Juvenile Probation fiscal 18 year 18-19 total $2,527.02. And the grand total of 19 $249,870.58. 20 COMMISSIONER LETZ: I make a motion to pay 21 the bills as requested. 22 COMMISSIONER BELEW: I second. 23 JUDGE POLLARD: Been moved by Commissioner 24 Precinct 3, seconded by Commissioner Precinct 1 to pay 25 the bills as submitted by the County Auditor pursuant to 4 1 item 1.1 of the agenda. Is there any further comment or 2 discussion? 3 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Question. Brenda, on 4 the general fund under juries, there's a check to 5 Rebecca Bolin for -- 6 MRS. DOSS: What page is it? 7 COMMISSIONER LETZ: It's page 7. It's 8 replenish jury funds. Why -- 9 MRS. DOSS: They have cash. She gets cash 10 from the Treasurer, and then she pays the jurors. So 11 whenever it gets below a certain level she requests a 12 check from the Treasurer. 13 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Okay. I just never 14 noticed that one before. 15 MRS. DOSS: We did the same for the district 16 court also. 17 JUDGE POLLARD: If there are no further 18 questions or comments, those in favor of the motion 19 signify by raising your right hands. It's three zero, 20 unanimous. 21 Let the record reflect, by the way, that 22 Commissioners Precinct 4 and Precinct 2 are not present, 23 but we do have a quorum. 24 All right, we're going to item 1.2 of the 25 agenda budget amendments. 5 1 MRS. DOSS: No budget amendments. 2 JUDGE POLLARD: None. 3 1.3 late bills? 4 MRS. DOSS: No late bills. 5 JUDGE POLLARD: None. 6 1.4 approve the payroll? 7 MRS. DOSS: None this time. 8 JUDGE POLLARD: Not at this time. 9 All right, 1.5 is consider, discuss and take 10 appropriate action to allow the County Judge to sign a 11 contract with Kustom Karpets for the County Court at Law 12 Courtroom. Judge Harris. 13 JUDGE HARRIS: Yes, Sir. I think we have 14 everything for you from Kustom Karpets on this contract, 15 and just want to say thank you so much, this is going to 16 look so good. It's going to be gorgeous when they 17 finish, and just wanted to thank you. 18 COMMISSIONER LETZ: And the County Attorney, 19 has she reviewed it? 20 JUDGE HARRIS: She's reviewed everything. 21 COMMISSIONER LETZ: Move for approval and 22 authorize the County Judge to sign the contract with 23 Kustom Karpets. 24 COMMISSIONER BELEW: Second. 25 JUDGE POLLARD: Been moved by Commissioner 6 1 3, seconded by Commissioner Precinct 1 to authorize the 2 County Judge to sign the contract with Kustom Karpets 3 for the County Court at Law Courtroom as requested by 4 Judge Harris, and described by Judge Harris. Is there 5 any further comment or discussion? I'd like to say 6 having carpet in a courtroom from a sound muffle 7 standpoint is an absolute necessity, and I think it's 8 appropriate, very appropriate. So any further comment 9 or discussion? If not, those in favor of the motion 10 signify by raising your right hand. It's three zero, 11 unanimous. 12 Item 1.6 consider, discuss and take 13 appropriate action to allow County Judge to sign 14 contract with Anderson Upholstery for the County Court 15 at Law Courtroom. Judge Harris. 16 JUDGE HARRIS: Yes, Sir. We are getting the 17 benches. Shane's going to help tomorrow morning to get 18 the benches up and loaded, and taken to Anderson 19 Upholstery. They're going to put in brand new padding, 20 and kind of a blue will be the cover, and they're going 21 to look great. That padding in there is 33 years old, 22 so it's going to look great. 23 JUDGE POLLARD: I'll bet it's a design on 24 there that a lady decided she has. She has a very 25 feminine courtroom, and everything looks nice. Fits her 7 1 personality. 2 JUDGE HARRIS: Thank you. 3 JUDGE POLLARD: And by the way, I've done 4 business with Anderson Upholstery several times. Wow, 5 they're really good, and reasonable, too. They're 6 really good. 7 JUDGE HARRIS: They are. They are. 8 JUDGE POLLARD: Okay, thank you. Any 9 further comment or questions? 10 COMMISSIONER LETZ: I move for approval of 11 the agenda item. 12 COMMISSIONER BELEW: And I second. 13 JUDGE POLLARD: All right, it's been moved 14 by Commissioner Precinct 3, seconded by Commissioner 15 Precinct 1 to approve agenda item 1.6, and that is to 16 authorize the County Judge to sign a contract with 17 Anderson Upholstery for the County Court at Law 18 Courtroom as described by Judge Harris to that.
