In May, 1996, the Kerr County Detention Center moved into its new facility. The jail has a capacity of 192 .

Thirty seven employees are presently on staff.  Two certification classes for corrections officers are held per year.

The Kerr County Detention Center uses a Ford Crown Vic and a Ford E350 Van for the transport of inmates.
