Lt. Hill has been a licensed peace officer since 1972, beginning his career with the Houston Police Department. Taking a hiatus from the big city, he moved his family to Kerr County in 1980 and worked for the Kerrville Police Department and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office until returning to the Houston Police Department in 1984. For the next 5 years, he was assigned to work undercover vice and narcotics investigations. In 1990, he had the opportunity to return to the Kerrville area as a narcotics investigator with the 216th Judicial District Narcotics Task Force where he worked until that program ended in 2006. From 2000 until 2006, Lt. Hill was the Commander of that narcotics unit which provided drug enforcement for 4 counties. Lt. Hill returned to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office in 2006 and helped organize and supervise the agency’s new Narcotics Division.
Lt. Hill was awarded the Texas Master Peace Officer’s License in 1996 and holds a Texas Peace Officers Instructor’s Certification.
He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hill Country Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and is a member representing Kerr County on the Alamo Area Council of Governments Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.
