The Kerr County Historical Commission meets the third Monday of each month at noon at the Union Church. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are always welcome. The next meeting of the commission will be:

The Kerr County Historical Commission is a county agency made up of volunteer residents for the purpose of initiating programs suggested by the Texas Historical Commission at Austin for the preservation of the historical heritage of the county. It is the responsibility of the Commission to determine the existence of historical buildings, sites or cemeteries and to explore. describe, explain and record information regarding the history of Kerr County. 

The object of this Commission shall be the implementation in Kerr County of the Texas Statutes pertaining to County Historical Commissions and Historical Preservation and the programs as outlined by the Texas Historical Commission.

Operating funds are provided for the most part by appropriations from the general revenue of the county.  Donations are received from individuals or businesses for memorial contributions, which are tax deductible, by the donor.  It operates under the statutes adopted by the 58th and 64th Legislatures.
