KERR COUNTY CEMETERIES

Glen Rest Cemetery, Courtesy Kerr County Genealogy Webpage

There are 45 Documented Cemeteries in Kerr County, including one Historic Texas Cemetery and nine cemeteries with Historical Markers. There are over 22,500 tombstones within the county. A joint project of the coordinator of the privately managed Kerr County Genealogy Webpage and the Kerr County Historical Commission is the identification of burial grounds throughout the county using local knowledge, USGS maps, deeds, obituaries, and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) receivers. Once a cemetery is identified it is recorded on the Kerr County Genealogy Webpage and in "Kerr County Cemeteries," a brochure jointly produced by KCHC, Kerr County Genealogy Webpage and the Kerrville Convention and Visitors Bureau. A copy of the brochure can be found at the Kerr County Courthouse, Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, Kerr Regional History Center and the Kerrville Convention and Visitors Bureau. To download the brochure in pdf format, click on the link below.

A census of Kerr County cemeteries online, including cemetery photos and inscriptions can be found at the Kerr County Genealogy Webpage:
